Grindrod’s former chairman dead at 79

Murray Grindrod Sr., who worked at Grindrod Ltd. for 50 years, 21 years of which he served as chairman, died May 16.    Murray Grindrod Sr., who worked at Grindrod Ltd. for 50 years, 21 years of which he served as chairman, died May 16 at age 79.
   The cause of his death was not disclosed.
   Grindrod retired from the Durban, South Africa-based bulk shipping and logistics services company in 2007.
   He is survived by his wife Pauli, daughters Anne-Marie and Josi, and sons Walter and Murray Paul, both of whom are involved in Grindrod’s operations.
