Hapag-Lloyd adds feeder to Baltic

   Hapag-Lloyd said it will begin operating its weekly Finland Express Service (FEX) to Baltic ports next week.
   Two ships with about 1,000 TEUs of capacity will call Bremerhaven, Hamburg, St. Petersburg, Kotka, Rauma and Gaevle (Sweden) before returning to Bremerhaven. Hapag-Lloyd is currently looking into calling at the Russian port of Ust-Luga as well. The first ship in the service is scheduled to depart from Hamburg on April 2.
   Hamburg and Bremerhaven are the two major North German hubs in Hapag-Lloyd’s worldwide service network, offering links to 26 direct main liner services operated by Hapag-Lloyd from and to Asia, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, North and South America, Africa, Southern Europe and Australia.
   Hapag-Lloyd said the new service will complement its existing Russia Express Service (REX) which was launched last May. Hapag-Lloyd also offers connections to the Baltic region and ensures attractive port coverage with three other feeder services – the Poland Express Service (PEX), Gothenburg Express Service (GTE) and Baltic Feeder Service (UFE/BSF). – Chris Dupin
