Hoegh Osaka to be towed to Southampton

With car carrier nearly upright, salvors plan to tow it from anchorage to port.

The U.K. Maritime and Coastguard Agency said that the stricken car carrier Hoegh Osaka will be towed to Southampton Port late Thursday.
The ship, which was deliberately grounded on Brambles Bank Jan. 3 after it developed a severe list, has been largely righted.
At one point the ship was at a 48 degree list, but this morning the ship was only listing 5 percent.
The Coastguard said the ship will be moved from the Alpha Anchorage in the Solent at 3:45 p.m. (approximately) and is expected to arrive at Berth 101 in Southampton at about 9 p.m.
