ILA to meet with management in February

The International Longshoremen’s Association said collective bargaining issues will be discussed at the informal meetings in Delray Beach, Fla. from Feb. 13-16, and locals from Maine to Texas are invited to participate.    The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) said it has scheduled “informal meetings on collective bargaining issues,” which are scheduled to begin Feb. 13, 2017 in Delray Beach, Fla.
   ILA President Harold J. Daggett sent a letter in mid-November to all ILA local unions covered by the master contract, inviting each local’s president and designated representatives to attend the meetings to discuss the collective bargaining issues, the union said in a post on its Facebook page.
   The ILA’s current six-year master contract is in effect until Sept. 30, 2018.
   “These are not Wage Scale Committee meetings and therefore not formal bargaining sessions,” Daggett said.
   He said that ILA locals would meet privately on Monday, Feb.13 and Tuesday, Feb.14, and then with management at joint meetings on Wednesday, Feb. 15 and Thursday, Feb.16.
