Kalmar to supply container handlers to U.S. military

Kalmar, a subsidiary of Cargotec, has received an order to supply another 18 rough-terrain container handlers to the U.S. Defense Department.

   Kalmar, a subsidiary of Cargotec, has received an order to supply another 18 rough-terrain container handlers to the U.S. Defense Department. 
   The Kalmar RT240s will be delivered to multiple military installations across the United States through 2015 and will replace older equipment. Kalmar estimated the value of the order to be $18 million. 
   Kalmar’s RT240 are capable of handling containerloads of 24 tons across all types of terrain.
   The company has been producing rough terrain handlers since 2009 and currently has three assembly lines focused on container handlers and forklift trucks.
