Kirby makes changes to executive suite

   Kirby Corp., the nation’s largest tank barge operator and diesel engine services provider, said David W. Grzebinski has been elected president and chief operating officer, and that it plans to make him chief executive officer later this year. 
   Grzebinski has been serving as the company’s executive vice president and chief financial officer since 2010.
   C. Andrew Smith was named executive vice president and CFO after the filing of Kirby’s 2013 Form 10-K.
   Joseph H. Pyne will remain chairman and chief executive officer. He explained the election of Grzebinski and Smith to their new roles is the “first step in the succession plan” announced in April, with the “goal of transitioning my chief executive officer’s position to David during 2014, and the chief financial officer’s position to Andy in February 2014.”
