Korean Air launches Delhi cargo service

The South Korean airline has initiated thrice-weekly all-cargo flights from Incheon to India using a Boeing 777 freighter.    Korean Air has initiated a thrice-weekly all-cargo flight from Incheon to India’s Delhi using a Boeing 777 freighter.
   The airline said the cargo flight, which will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday, follows the South Korean government’s recent efforts to expand its trade relations with India. Korean Air already provides direct passenger flights from Incheon to Mumbai and New Delhi three and five times a week, respectively.
   The cargo flights will stop at Hanoi, Vietnam, before arriving in Delhi. From Delhi to Incheon, there will be two stops at Vienna, Austria, and Milan, Italy, the airline said.
   “Demand for air cargo from Asia to India has shown a sharp boost recently, an average of 6.5 percent annual increase in the last three years,” a Korean Air spokesperson said in a statement. “We are anticipating new demand and improved profitability through optimized cargo routes.”
   In recent years, Korean Air has added new freighters to its fleet, including Boeing 777s and 747-8s.
