Law firm files suit against car carrier operators

An antitrust litigation firm based in Houston said it has filed a nationwide class action law suit against some of the world’s largest vehicle shipping companies, alleging price fixing of car carrier services.
Susman Godrey filed the vehicle carrier case May 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle
District of Florida.
Car buyers who shipped vehicles manufactured overseas to the United States allege that the defendants conspired to fix shipping prices, resulting in inflated charges. It claims automobile manufacturers and automobile dealers passed on these inflated fees to automobile buyers and lessees.
Susman Godrey said defendants include Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics AS, NYK, “K” Line, and EUKOR. – Chris Dupin
