Lawsuit reported over loss of MOL Comfort

MOL has confirmed press reports that it has filed a lawsuit in Tokyo against the shipyard Mitsubishi Heavy Industry over the break-up and eventual sinking of the containership MOL Comfort last year.
Press reports say the Japanese shipping company is seeking compensation for the value of the ship as well as the costs incurred to strengthen sister ships.
MOL Comfort was in heavy weather in the Arabian Gulf in June when it split in two. Both halves of the ship eventually sank with all cargo lost.
