This technology demonstration recap is from the FreightWaves North American Logistics Tech Summit on Wednesday.

DEMO TOPIC: FreightWaves SONAR Supply Chain Intelligence

DETAILS: The FreightWaves SONAR SCI platform adds summary views to give an instant snapshot at a lane level — optimized for dry van and reefer trucks — giving shippers insight into what the market and their peers are doing, balanced by finding out lanes where they are overpaying that are easy to operate and underpaying in lanes that are difficult to operate.

BIOS: Zach Strickland, known as the “Sultan of SONAR,” is a FreightWaves market expert. With a degree in finance and over 13 years of experience in transportation data analytics, Strickland also produces a weekly market update.

Travis Rhyan is the chief product officer at FreightWaves. He is a FreightTech innovator with experience leading teams as the chief technology officer at GlobalTranz, a third-party logistics company, and the CEO of 10-4, a supply chain analytics company that was sold to Trimble Technologies.

KEY QUOTE FROM STRICKLAND:

“This new addition to SCI allows users to see a little bit faster where their biggest opportunities and biggest risks are.”

KEY QUOTES FROM RHYAN:

“What we’re doing is really taking the noise out of your entire supply chain and giving you a kind of supply chain ‘easy button’ where you can put your data in, literally hit the analyze button and then see instantly where you’re at risk.”

“We know our stable lanes, we know our unstable lanes, we know which ones are carrier favorable and which are shipper favorable. What FreightWaves has done is we looked at this based on our customers’ benchmarks and what they’re paying. This is really an instant analysis to show you where you’re overpaying and potentially underpaying in your supply chain.”
