Maersk hiking Med rates

   Liner carrier Maersk has announced a general rate increase that will go into effect April 1 on cargo moving in dry containers between the Mediterranean and the United States and Canada.
   The increase for westbound cargo is $250 for 20-foot containers, $350 for 40-foot containers, and 40-foot and 45-foot high cube dry containers. The amount of the increase is smaller from Syria at $190 for 20-foot containers and $265 for the other box sizes.
   Eastbound the rates increases are $150 for 20-foot containers and $200 for the three other container sizes. The rate to Syria is $114 for 20-foot containers and $152 for the other sizes.
