Maersk sets new rotations for MECL 1 and 2

Maersk Line has announced new rotations for its MECL 1 and MECL 2 services between the United States, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Mediterranean.
The company announced earlier this year it was increasing the size of its ships in MECL 1, which is operated with U.S.-flag vessels, and using them to serve the Western Mediterranean by connecting in Algeciras with dedicated feeders.
On the MECL 1, beginning with the Maersk Chicago arriving in Newark, N.J. on June 2, the new rotation will include Jebel Ali, Port Qasim, Pipavav, Nhava Sheva, Salalah, Algeciras, Newark, Charleston, Savannah, Norfolk, Newark, Algeciras, and Jebel Ali.
On the MECL 2, starting with the Maersk Utah arriving in Newark on June 11, the rotation will be Colombo, Salalah, Jeddah, Aqaba, Port Said, Algeciras, Newark, Savannah, Houston, Miami, Algeciras, Port Said, Djibouti, Jebel Ali, and Colombo. It will also change arrival, departure, and cutoff times.
The liner carrier also said arrival and departure times, as well as cutoffs, are changing at North American ports on both services. It noted ships in these services will be subject to the European Union’s advanced manifest rule. Details are available here. – Chris Dupin
