NFI Industries picks up SCR Air Services

NFI Industries will use the acquisition of the Seattle-based firm to expand its non-asset intermodal services, especially in refrigerated transport.

   NFI Industries, a Cherry Hill, N.J.-based freight transportation company, has acquired SCR Air Services.
   NFI will use the acquisition to expand its non-asset intermodal services, particularly in refrigerated transport.
   Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
   Seattle-based SCR has more than 30 years of experience in the non-asset-based logistics space. It specializes in specializes in truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, air freight and flatbed transport.
   SCR will become part of NFI’s brokerage operation, which includes more than 200 employees across nine North American offices. NFI works with over 40,000 carriers and moves more than 300,000 shipments a year.
   “SCR’s expertise in non-asset intermodal solutions, particularly within the refrigerated sector, will expand our brokerage services, as well as increase our presence in the Pacific Northwest,” said Sid Brown, NFI’s CEO, in a statement
