Do you know a shipper who is friendly to drivers? Has low detention times? Provides the right amenities?

FreightWaves is still taking nominations for its second annual Shipper of Choice Awards, showcasing exemplary shippers based on insights from industry practitioners and feedback from transportation providers.

“We’ve already received almost 400 nominations; that represents roughly 332 unique companies,” said Arlen Stark, FreightWaves executive vice president of events. “This is two times better than last year, and let’s not forget the nomination period is still open.”

Nominations for the Shipper of Choice Awards ends on April 1.

Shippers who are nominated must complete a certified survey conducted by the FreightWaves Research Group.

Among the criteria on which nominations will be judged are appointment flexibility, driver accommodations, facility efficiency (including low detention and dwell time), and overages, shortages and damages rates.

The award is a seal of approval based on how shippers perform in each of these categories relative to their peers, based on a series of measurable and qualitative responses.

Kellogg’s took home first place in the inaugural Shipper of Choice Awards last year. Nestle took second, followed by Walmart, Conagra and The Home Depot.

Recipients of the 2020 FreightWaves Shipper of Choice Awards will be announced during FreightWaves LIVE Atlanta in May.
