Obama nominates Jaenichen to head MarAd

   President Obama has nominated Paul “Chip” Jaenichen Sr., of Kentucky, to be administrator of the Maritime Administration.
   Jaenichen was named the acting administrator in June, following the resignation of David T. Matsuda.
   He first joined MarAd in July 2012 when he was
appointed deputy maritime administrator by Obama. Jaenichen was a career naval officer, retiring
after serving 30 years as a nuclear-trained submarine officer.
