Renou takes helm of CMA CGM America

French liner carrier CMA CGM has appointed 20-year company veteran Ludovic Renou to president of CMA CGM America, based in Norfolk, Va.

   French liner carrier CMA CGM Group has appointed Ludovic Renou to president of CMA CGM America, based in Norfolk, Va.
   He succeeds Marc Bourdon, who served as the U.S. president for four years and has moved to Shanghai to manage CMA CGM’s China operation.
   Renou has more than 20 years of experience in shipping, global logistics and executive management with CMA CGM. He started out as a line manager and progressed through management roles with assignments in China, Indonesia, Vietnam, and India. 
   As the head of CMA CGM America, which is the U.S. agency for global carrier CMA CGM, Renou will oversee about 900 employees who manage the carrier’s U.S. container volumes which now exceed 2 million TEUs annually. The carrier has 34 weekly services calling 15 U.S. ports. In addition to Norfolk, CMA CGM America has offices in East Rutherford, N.J.; Atlanta; Chicago; Houston; and Newport Beach, Calif.
   The overall CMA CGM Group is based out of Marseilles, France and has over 29,000 employees across the globe and a fleet of 489 vessels. CMA CGM is a member of the OCEAN Alliance, an east-west ocean carrier vessel sharing agreement comprising COSCO Shipping, CMA CGM, APL, OOCL and Evergreen Line.
