Returning to e-commerce normal — At Your Doorstep

What have we learned about online returns during the COVID-19 pandemic?

E-commerce surged as COVID-19 forced people to change buying behaviors. With that surge in online shopping also came a surge in returns, and companies have had to alter return policies and procedures as a result.

Returns are particularly difficult for big and bulky items like furniture and appliances. Now one company is working to make those returns easier.

On this episode of At Your Doorstep, host Kaylee Nix talks to Chris Richter, founder and CEO of Floor Found, about how his company is making returns easier and greener by moving items to a resale market rather than dumping them in a landfill.

Richter explains how he sees the retail landscape shifting now that retailers are welcoming back in-person shoppers and if that increase in foot traffic will lead to a decrease in online returns. The two also discuss the future of big-item logistics and how important it is to sustainability goals to make returns easier on the environment.
