SAL Heavy Lift, a subsidiary of “K” line, has entered a contract with Van Oord to transport foundations for wind turbines to be used at the Walney Offshore Wind Project.

SAL Heavy Lift, a subsidiary of “K” line, has entered into a contract with Van Oord to transport foundation components for wind turbines to be installed at the Walney Offshore Wind Project in the Irish Sea.
The carrier’s vessel, Svenja, will be chartered for 30 voyages to ship 87 offshore wind turbine monopoles and related pieces from northern Europe to Belfast.
This is the second contract SAL has signed in support of offshore wind farm development this year. SAL’s vessel Trina has just finished support work for the Veja Mate Offshore Wind Farm Project in the German North Sea, transporting 68 foundation pieces via 11 voyages from Aalborg to Eemshaven.
