Transflo has announced the appointment of Michael Southworth as president. Southworth joins the company from Verint Systems, where he was most recently general manager of the company’s Intelligent Self-Service business.
“Michael’s deep expertise in emerging technology and mobility provides the perfect puzzle piece that Transflo needs to transform the supply chain for the twenty-first century,” said Transflo CEO Frank Adelman in a statement. “We are thrilled to have him join our leadership team and advance the company toward a streamlined, digital future.”
In his position with Verint, Southworth leads a team that builds conversational artificial intelligence and advanced analytics solutions to improve customer engagement and reduce fraud.
Verint provides “Actionable Intelligence” solutions to improve customer engagement and cyberintelligence.
Transflo said Southworth will play a key role in advancing the company’s mobile and data-intelligence solutions as it scales the business. In October, Transflo announced the acquisition of Microdea, an Ontario, Canada-based document management and workflow automation solutions company.
Microdea’s paperless Synergize platform is used by more than 400 companies to manage document flow, including same-day billing, cash flow and days sales outstanding. The company offers billing, collections, accounts payable and accounts receivable, driver recruitment and file management, and rate confirmations and carrier pay solutions for enterprise clients.
Prior to his most recent position with Verint, Southworth was CEO of Contact Solutions, a Verint company, and chief operating officer of Corning MobileAccess. He is a board member of Finjan, a global cybersecurity company, as well as a board member of Quality of Life Plus Program, a nonprofit organization that works to generate innovations that improve quality of life for those who have served in the armed forces.
Transflo expects to process over 100 million freight loads in 2020 through its cloud-based digital collaboration platform. The platform provides shippers, brokers/3PLs, carriers and drivers end-to-end visibility, document intelligence, mobile connectivity, digital tendering and payment automation.
