What supply chain resilience really looks like — Medically Necessary

Taking steps to keep drugs and supplies available for all

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, politicians and corporate executives vowed to increase supply chain resiliency. Often, the plans to achieve that are vague so in early 2020, Vizient implemented a program that aims to do something about it.

On this episode of Medically Necessary, Matt Blois talks to Vizient Vice President of Contracting and Program Services Mittal Sutaria and Senior Vice President, Emerging Solutions and Suppliers, David Gillan, about the decision to set up this program in the middle of the global crisis.

The three talk about the new program, Novaplus Enhanced Supply, and how it aims to make the supply of essential drugs and medical devices more secure in the U.S. This discussion is part one of two, so catch the second episode next week.
