At the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC 18) Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition Pilot Flying J announced their Truck Care services.

As part of Pilot Flying J’s commitment to professional drivers to make their lives on the road easier through safety, convenience and efficiency, they launched Pilot Flying J Truck Care in 2017. Services of Pilot Flying J Truck Care include mobile emergency roadside assistance, on-site Service Center assistance, tire sales and service offering both Retail and National Account products, preventive maintenance, and light mechanical assistance to our professional drivers.

Starting 2018 strong, the company now has more than 150 mobile emergency trucks on the road in 36 states and eleven Service Centers in Arkansas, Illinois, Tennessee, Missouri, Michigan, Mississippi, Texas, South Carolina, Georgia, and Wyoming, with another seven locations planned to open by mid-year.

“From where we started a year ago we’ve come a long way already,” said David Latimer, Vice President of Shops Strategy and Operations. “People ask us, ‘Why are you doing this?’ It’s really very simple. One of our top priorities at Pilot Flying J is to make drivers’ lives more comfortable and convenient while on the road. As an industry leader serving North America’s professional drivers, we expanded our services to include emergency roadside assistance and service centers nationwide last year and will continue to expand these services throughout 2018.”

The combined network of more than 750 Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers across North America serves more than 1.2 million customers daily.

“What do we do in the shops? General maintenance. Oil changes. DOT inspections. Brakes. Tire sales and service. You name it,” says Latimer.

“We’ll provide a full line of service and sales, and we can help on the road as well as in the shop 24/7. Also, with the rollout of our service centers, we’re actually going to expand parking for our truckers. We’re not going to diminish it. We’re looking at building some of these centers from the ground up, and we’re also looking at acquisitions. We’re going to build several hundred of these centers over the next few years. We’re in the game. We’re serious. Right now we have good coverage, it’s not great coverage, but a year ago we had zero coverage. So, we’ve already come a long way.”
