Sanitary supply firm signs with Descartes for route planning

   The logistics solutions provider Descartes Systems Group said Tuesday that WAXIE Sanitary Supply, America’s largest, family-owned distributor of sanitary maintenance supplies, has selected Descartes’ cloud-based solution for route planning, dispatch, tracking and mobile proof of delivery to enhance its delivery operations.
   “We believe Descartes’ leading routing and mobile solution can help us meet our customer-service commitments; fund growth by reducing fuel, labor and vehicle costs; and empower our drivers and dispatchers with innovative route management tools,” Eric Cohen, vice president of logistics at WAXIE, said in a statement.
   Descartes said the integrated mobile application that provides robust stop-level data collection for management of over, short and damaged (OS&D) orders will enable WAXIE to streamline operations and eliminate paper-based processes across its nine distribution centers.
