The HERO (High Efficiency Ro/Ro)-class Theben joined sister vessels Thalatta and Thermopylae in the line of ro/ro vessels which will take advantage of the new vessel size limit of the third set of Panama Canal locks expected to start operations in June, WWL said.
The Theben measures about 200 meters long, 36.5 meters wide and includes five liftable car decks. The vessel can transport up to 8,000 car equivalent units.
