Average ship size on the trade has fallen from 8,500 TEUs to 8,300 TEUs as the number of ships has increased from 250 to 280 in the last 12 months. The increase in of ships is primarily due to slow steaming initiatives that allow carriers to employ more vessels on each string.
The number of loops offered on the trade has risen from 27 to 28, Dynamar said.
