Panalpina names Burnell VP of North America operations

Panalpina names Burnell VP of North America operations    Panalpina has appointed David Burnell vice president of domestic operations for the company’s North America region.
   Burnell will be responsible for the company’s pickup and delivery network in North America. He will be based at the company’s regional head office in Foster City, Calif.
   Burnell brings more than 30 years of experience in transportation and logistics. Before joining Panalpina, he owned and operated Image/ISO Transportation and Logistics Inc., which handled domestic, international and third-party logistics, for 12 years and sold it in 2001. Prior to that, he worked in sales and operations for companies such as Team Air Express, Right-o-Way, CF Airfreight and Burlington Northern Air Freight.
   Burnell reports to Vincent Gulisano, executive vice president of operations of Panalpina for the North America region.
   Panalpina, based in Switzerland, operates a global network with 480 branches in 74 countries, and uses agents in another 62 countries.
