FreightorGator to provide dynamic YRC pricing

The online less-than-truckload (LTL) freight exchange FreightorGator has begun dynamically linking freight rates from LTL carrier YRC to users of its platform.    The online less-than-truckload (LTL) freight exchange FreightorGator said Wednesday it has begun dynamically linking freight rates from LTL carrier YRC to users of its platform.
   The exchange provides freight rates to Kansas City-based FreightorGator’s spot LTL shippers to compare and book in real time.
   “Instead of receiving blanket prices that are only updated periodically, dynamic prices save shippers money because prices are adjusted daily to fill trucks and meet demand,” the company said. “Just as real-time dynamic pricing has transformed other industries in the past, this effort is indicative of a movement for the logistics industry to implement more sophisticated pricing systems to improve efficiencies and reduce operating costs.”
   FreightorGator said YRC has been “leading the charge” in targeting a dynamic pricing system for LTL rates.
   “This is just the first of multiple relationships our company is forming to provide FreightorGator customers with the best rates and great service from leading carriers,” said Augie Grasis, founder and chief executive officer of FreightorGator. “These relationships will include a combination of traditional volume discounts with regional and national carriers, as well as dynamic rates as they become more prevalent.”
