CMA CGM alters transatlantic offerings

CMA CGM alters transatlantic offerings       CMA CGM has announced changes to its transatlantic services starting Dec. 1.
CMA CGM had been a charterer on the transatlantic leg of a Maersk Line pendulum service operated between Asia, the U.S. East Coast and Europe via the Panama Canal. Maersk called the transatlantic leg of this service the TA 3, and CMA CGM called it the Liberty Bridge.
Starting Dec. 1, CMA CGM said it would instead offer two Liberty Bridge services, also utilizing slot charters.
For Liberty Bridge 1, CMA CGM will charter slots on the New World Alliance APX loop, also called the TA1 loop by Maersk, a fellow slot charterer. The rotation is Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Le Havre, New York, Norfolk, Charleston, Miami, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, New York and Bremerhaven.
For Liberty Bridge 2, CMA CGM will charter westbound slots on Maersk’s TA2 loop with a rotation of Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Felixstowe, New York, Charleston, Savannah and Miami. The New World Alliance also charters slots on the service.
On Dec. 26, CMA CGM said the St. Laurent service between Europe and Montreal would include calls in Le Havre and Antwerp. CMA CGM charters slots from Maersk for this service, which is designated by the Danish carrier as the TA 4. The new rotation is Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Le Havre, Montreal and Bremerhaven.
The French carrier has chartered slots on the St Lawrence Coordinated Service between Europe and Montreal, which is maintained by Hapag-Lloyd, Mediterranean Shipping Co. and OOCL.
CMA CGM also has a service to the South Atlantic, Gulf, and Mexico called the Victory Bridge. It charters slots from Mediterranean Shipping Co. for this service.
