Sea Containers sells New York ferry company

Sea Containers sells New York ferry company SeaStreak, a company that operates a high-speed passenger ferry between Manhattan and Monmouth County, N.J., has been sold to New England Fast Ferry Co. The sale includes SeaStreak’s fleet of four catamarans.
   SeaStreak is owned by Sea Containers Ltd., a Bermuda-registered and U.S.-quoted company that has been in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection since October 2006. The sale is subject to court approval.
   New England Fast Ferry is a sister company of Moran Transportation, Interlake Steamship Co. and Mormac Marine Group. It operates passenger ferries in Rhode Island and in Massachusetts to Martha’s Vineyard.
   SeaStreak carries 800,000 passengers a year to terminals at Wall Street and Midtown, Manhattan.
