Rattray, currently executive vice president, will take up the top executive job at Santa Ana, Calif.-based ANZDL in the Spring.
Beard is leaving ANZDL to head Tranz Rail, the New Zealand rail and ferry operator in which Wisconsin Central Transportation Corp. is a major shareholder.
ANZDL is part of the Canadian group CP Ships.
