RR Donnelley purchases managed delivery services provider

The print, digital and supply chain solutions provider acquired Tampa, Fla.-based Courier Advisory Group to expand RR Donnelley’s logistics service offerings and last-mile delivery options, according to a statement from the company.    R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company has acquired Courier Advisory Group, a provider of managed delivery services that includes third-party logistics, scheduled and on-demand delivery, and managed courier services.
   Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
   The print, digital and supply chain solutions provider said in a statement acquiring Tampa, Fla.-based Courier will allow RR Donnelley to expand its logistics service offerings and last-mile delivery options. Courier Advisory Group operates 34 locations in the Eastern and Midwestern United States.
   RR Donnelley expects Courier’s logistics capabilities to help streamline customers’ distribution processes to achieve both operational efficiencies and cost reductions across their operations. Tracking and tracing capabilities will allow full visibility and provide automatic updates into the last-mile segment of delivery.
   “With over 14 years of strong performance, Courier Advisory Group is an excellent fit for RR Donnelley’s Logistics business,” RR Donnelley Logistics President Chuck Fattore said of the acquisition. “This transaction complements our March 2015 acquisition of United Express System and expands our offering in the growing last-mile delivery space.”
