Hyundai adds Colombo to Asia-Europe Express

Hyundai adds Colombo to Asia-Europe Express Carriers in the New World Alliance have added a call at the Sri Lankan transshipment port of Colombo on their Asia-Europe Express (AEX) service.
   The service, on which Hyundai Merchant Marine provides the bulk of the ships, connects East Asia with northern Europe.
   The call at Colombo will be added on the eastbound leg only. The new rotation is Hakata, Gwangyang, Busan, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Thamesport, Colombo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung and Hakata.
   Nine vessels are deployed on the AEX, with eight 6,780- to 6,800-TEU vessels provided by Hyundai and a ninth 5,220-TEU ship by MOL, according to ComPair Data. MOL, APL, NYK Line, OOCL, Hapag Lloyd and CMA CGM all take slots on the service.
