MOL bolsters reefer container fleet

Japanese ocean carrier Mitsui O.SK. Lines in March agreed to purchase 2,000 40-foot (FEU) and 200 20-foot (TEU) refrigerated containers, MOL said in a statement Friday.    Japanese ocean carrier Mitsui O.SK. Lines (MOL) has purchased of 2,200 new refrigerated containers.
   The order, completed in March, consists of 2,000 40-foot (FEU) and 200 20-foot (TEU) reefer containers equipped with temperature-control and dehumidification technologies to transport perishable products.
   “Over the years, MOL has established itself as a major reefer carrier with consistent investments in procuring new refrigerated containers, in order to provide the highest level of service quality for our customers,” Vice President of MOL Global Reefer Management Kaori Usui said of the order.
   “We will continue to invest and modernize our reefer fleet to include the latest technologies to cater for future growth in the refrigerated sector,” added Yutaka Hinooka, chief operating officer, MOL Liner Ltd.
   The first of the new containers were delivered in March with the remaining containers to be delivered by the end of June 2017. The containers will be gradually integrated into the carrier’s existing container fleet, said MOL.
