Diana Containerships signs time charter with Wan Hai

The Athens-based vessel owner and lessor has, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, entered into a time charter contract with Wan Hai Lines for one of its post-Panamax containerships, the 6,494-TEU m/v Hamburg.    Athens-based vessel owner and lessor Diana Containerships Inc. (DCI) has, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, entered into a time charter contract with Taiwanese ocean carrier Wan Hai Lines for one of its post-Panamax containerships, the m/v Hamburg, both companies have confirmed.
   The gross charter rate is $11,000 per day, minus a 3.75 percent commission paid to third parties, for a minimum period of 120 days to a maximum period of 220 days, DCI said. The charter commenced on Dec. 1.
   The m/v Hamburg, a 6,494-TEU containership built in 2009, was previously chartered to CMA CGM, Marseille at a gross charter rate of $6,700 per day, minus a 3.5 percent commission paid to third parties.
   The arrangement is expected to generate about $1.32 million of gross revenues for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter, DCI said.
   Including the m/v Hamburg, DCI’s fleet currently consists of 11 containerships, with six being post-Panamax ships and five being Panamax vessels.
