The company said it had agreed to acquire the vessel charter-free for a total consideration of $16 million. The ship, which will be renamed the 'Alabama Belle,' is expected to be delivered to TBS between Nov. 20 and Dec. 5.
With the latest acquisition, TBS now has a fleet with total capacity of 1.0 million dwt comprising 19 multipurpose ships and 15 handysize and handymax bulk carriers.
