BIGGER NEW SHIPS FOR MAERSK SEALAND’S NEW ZEALAND RUN    Maersk Sealand will introduce four new 2000-TEU owned ships into its weekly Singapore/New Zealand service.
   These will be up to 500 TEUs larger than the chartered ships they will replace, and have a larger refrigerated capacity. Their arrival will permit an additional New Zealand port call at Timaru, South Island, fortnightly.
   Under the revised schedule all four vessels will make weekly calls at the North Island ports of Auckland, Tauranga and Napier, and fortnightly calls at Nelson, Lyttelton, Timaru and Port Chalmers.

   The first of the new vessels, named “Nele Maersk”, will enter the New Zealand service in March.
