BWR: Europe to U.S. North Atlantic trade

BlueWater Reporting illustrated the trade removed 32 vessels and 79,764 TEUs of total deployed capacity between December 2013 and December 2016, while weekly allocated capacity on the trade has been on the rise.    Utilizing BlueWater Reporting‘s Capacity Report, the charts below display the total deployed capacity for all services operating on the Europe to U.S. North Atlantic trade, the amount of vessels deployed on the trade, and the weekly allocated capacity on the trade.    The U.S. North Atlantic encompasses ports in the following states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.
   Data is gathered from the December reporting periods between 2013 and 2016.
   Over the course of this timeframe, total deployed capacity from Europe to the U.S. North Atlantic declined, but the trade’s weekly allocated capacity was on the rise.
   For these four reporting periods, total deployed capacity and the number of vessels operating on the Europe to U.S. North Atlantic trade was highest in December 2013 at 761,900 TEUs from 161 vessels. By December 2016, total deployed capacity fell to 682,136 TEUs and the number of vessels on the trade also took a sharp decline to 129. Overall, the trade removed 32 vessels and 79,764 TEUs of deployed capacity between December 2013 and December 2016.
   However, weekly allocated capacity inched up from 32,531 TEUs to 37,669 TEUs.
