Siemens to use Amber Road for China trade management

German engineering and tech conglomerate Siemens, one of the largest foreign investors in China, will use the global trade management software provider’s tools to manage China’s General and Processing Trade program requirements.    Siemens AG has selected Amber Road’s China Trade Management solution to centralize and automate Customs and China Inspection and Quarantine procedures for all of its China- related import and export activities.
   The German engineering and tech conglomerate is one of the largest foreign-invested companies in China, with offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
   Amber Road’s China Trade Management solution enables a company to automate import and export processes for China operations, including helping companies meet compliance requirements for the country’s General and Processing Trade programs. The global trade management software provider acquired China-based EasyCargo in 2013 to bolster its customers’ access to tools to manage China’s trade regulations.
   “Amber Road stands out for its in-depth knowledge of Chinese compliance procedures and local, Chinese- language support,” said Heidi Zoetzl, head of export control & customs at Siemens AG.
    Siemens will use a centralized trade data repository and an online management system hosted by Amber Road to optimize preferential trade opportunities and establish properly documented, auditable processes.
