Yokote appointed president, CEO of Mitsui USA

Yokote appointed president, CEO of Mitsui USA Yasunori Yokote has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Mitsui (USA) Inc. He will concurrently serve as an executive vice president of Mitsui & Co. Ltd., the parent company in Tokyo and chief operating officer of the Americas business unit.
   He succeeds Motokazu Yoshida, who is returning to Japan.
   Yokote, a graduate of the University of Tokyo with a degree in economics, joined Mitsui & Co. in 1970 and built his career mainly in the company’s steel products business area, which makes up a significant portion of the company’s global trade and investment activities.
   Mitsui USA incorporated in New York in 1966, and has 13 business divisions and nearly 80 subsidiaries and affiliated companies across the United States.
