Fuzhou passes 1 million TEUs throughput, commissions Berth 2 PSA International’s Fuzhou International Container Terminal (FICT) reached a record 1 million TEUs throughput on Dec. 20 during the loading of the 2,917-TEU vessel “CMA CGM Kalamata.”
   The terminal, located at the center of the coastline of China’s Fujian Province and facing the Taiwan Strait, started operations in 2003 and its latest figures represent a 25 percent throughput growth over 803,895 TEUs achieved in 2005.
   A second berth has been commissioned giving the port a total length of 651 meters (2,136 feet), equipped with 5 post-Panamax quay cranes and 12 Rubber-Tire Gantry cranes.
   Berth 3 is expected to be commissioned in May bringing FICT’s total quay length to 983 meters (3,225 feet) and increasing the terminal's capacity to 1.2 million TEUs.
