Maersk unveils skipped sailings around Chinese Golden Week

The Danish ocean carrier announced skipped sailings on various loops as a result of the upcoming Chinese Golden Week.

Danish ocean carrier Maersk Line has announced skipped sailings on various services around the Chinese Golden Week in order to match network capacity with reduced demand, the company said.
Three full sailings during week 40 will be skipped, along with another voyage skipping a port call, while two full sailings during week 41 will be skipped.
During week 40, the Maersk operated FI3, dedicated to serving trade between Asia and the Indian Subcontinent, will skip the Oct. 4 sailing of the Maersk Salalah out of Xingang, while the Maersk operated CHX, also dedicated to the Asia-Indian Subcontinent trade, will skip the Oct. 8 sailing of the Maersk Sembawang out of Qingdao. In addition, the FI1 will skip the Oct. 6 sailing of the APL Iolite out of Chiwan. The FI1 strictly serves trade between Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. Maersk is a slot purchaser on this loop, which is operated by OOCL, APL and Emirates. Meanwhile, the 2M Alliance operated AE15 will also omit calls to King Abdullah on the Oct. 9 sailing of the MSC Genova from Busan. The AE15 serves trade between Asia, the Middle East and the Mediterranean.
During week 41, the FI2, a jointly operated service between OOCL, Hamburg Sud and Gold Star Line, which Maersk purchases slots on, will skip the Oct. 10 sailing of the OOCL America from Shanghai. The Maersk operated Horn of Africa will skip the Oct. 15 sailing of the Seroja Lima out of Tanjung Pelepas. The FI2 strictly operates between Asia and the Indian Subcontinent, while the Horn of Africa calls Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Subcontinent, and Africa.
