Old Dominion names COO, forms expo service    Thomasville, N.C.-based less-truckload carrier Old Dominion Freight Line promoted Greg C. Gantt to executive vice president and chief operating officer.
   Gantt joined Old Dominion in 1994 and served as senior vice president of operations since 2002. He will continue to report to David S. Congdon, Old Dominion's president and chief executive officer.
   Old Dominion Freight Line has also started OD Expo Services, a customized offering for companies that ship booths and materials to trade shows and expos.
   For the service, Old Dominion will provide the pickup and line haul, while a partner will handle the final mile delivery to the convention center hosting the trade show. The new service is available through Old Dominion's nationwide network of 213 service centers.
