CKYHE Alliance begins blank sailing program

The ocean carrier alliance announced a voyage cancellation plan for services between Asia and North Europe and the Mediterranean.    Members of the CKYHE Alliance – ocean carriers COSCO, “K” Line, Yang Ming, Hanjin and Evergreen Line – have issued a voyage cancellation plan for Asia-North Europe and Asia-Mediterranean loops.
   A total of nine voyages have been cancelled on CKYHE Alliance operated services throughout November and December, as follows:
  • The NE7 skipped a sailing during week 45 (ETA Ningbo, Nov. 4) and will skip sailings during week 48 (ETA Ningbo, Nov. 25) and week 51 (ETA Ningbo, Dec. 16).
  • The NE8 skipped a sailing during week 46 (ETA Taipei, Nov. 8) and will skip a sailing during week 51 (ETA Taipei, Dec. 13).
  • The MD2 will skip sailings during week 47 (ETA Xiamen, Nov. 15), week 49 (ETA Xiamen, Nov. 29) and week 51 (ETA Xiamen, Dec. 13).
  • The ADR will skip a sailing during week 48 (ETA Qingdao, Nov. 26).
   The NE7 operates with 10 vessels with an average capacity of 13,652 TEUs, according to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting. The loop has a rotation of Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Singapore, Piraeus, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Piraeus and Ningbo.
   The NE8, which operates with 10 vessels with an average capacity of 7,910 TEUs, has a rotation of Taipei, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shekou, Colombo, Felixstowe, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Colombo and Taipei.
   The MD2 operates with 10 vessels with an average capacity of 8,168 TEUs. The loop has a rotation of Xiamen, Ningbo, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, Ashdod, Genoa, Barcelona, Marseilles-Fos (Fos), Port Said, Singapore, Hong Kong and Xiamen.
   The ADR, which operates with 10 7,723-TEU average vessels, has a rotation of Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Taipei, Yantian, Shekou, Tanjung Pelepas, Ashdod, Alexandria, Piraeus, Koper, Trieste, Piraeus, Jeddah, Colombo, Tanjung Pelepas, Shekou, Kaohsiung and Qingdao.
   The CKYHE Alliance operates a total of six services that deploy capacity between Asia and North Europe, as illustrated by BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report. Together, these six services deploy 75,209 TEUs each week, excluding skipped sailings.
   The alliance also operates six services that deploy capacity between Asia and the Mediterranean, which together deploy 66,059 TEUs each week, excluding skipped sailings.
   In sum, 18 container shipping carriers deploy capacity across a total of 22 loops that serve the Asia to North Europe trade, while a total of 18 container shipping carriers deploy capacity across 25 loops that serve the Asia to Mediterranean trade, as illustrated by BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report and Carrier Trade Route Deployment Report.
   On the eastbound route, a total of 17 container shipping carriers deploy capacity across a total of 20 loops that serve the North Europe to Asia trade, while a total of 17 container shipping carries deploy capacity across 23 loops that serve the Mediterranean to Asia trade.
