Shipping Coordinating Committee to hold open meetings

   The State Department’s Shipping Coordinating Committee will hold open meetings Jan. 21 and Feb. 11 at the Coast Guard Personnel Service Center in Arlington, Va., and the Coast Guard headquarters building in Washington, D.C., respectively.
   The department said the primary purpose of the Jan. 21 meeting is to prepare for the first session of the International Maritime Organization’s Sub-Committee on Pollution Prevention and Response, held Feb. 3-7 in the United Kingdom. The Feb. 11 meeting will include preparations for the first session of the IMO’s Sub-Committee on Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping, which will be Feb. 17-21 in the UK.
   Members of the public who plan to attend the January meeting should contact the meeting coordinator no later than Jan. 10, while parties wishing to attend the February meeting should do the same by Feb. 4.
