DHL, Unifor lack of agreement to result in strike

The Canadian labor union said its 800 members will be in a legal strike position as of Feb. 6 at 12:01 a.m. eastern time.    Canadian labor union Unifor said Wednesday one of Canada’s largest international parcel shipping companies, DHL, has received a 72-hour strike notice.
   Unifor’s 800 members will be in a legal strike position as of Feb. 6 at 12:01 a.m. eastern time, the union said.
   DHL’s regional offices are located on or near airport properties throughout Canada, and most of the company’s operations facilities are located at airports across the country, including in Vancouver, Hamilton, Edmonton and Calgary.
   “Our goal is to secure fair compensation for the workers who make DHL successful,” Unifor National Representative Mario Santos said. “We can achieve that without job action, but DHL needs to get serious about reaching a fair deal.”
