INTTRA says volumes have doubled in 2007

INTTRA says volumes have doubled in 2007 INTTRA, an e-commerce portal for the ocean freight industry, said it expects to process 10 million containers in 2007, double last year’s volume. The company said this represents 10 percent of global ocean container trade.
   INTTRA, which processed 1 million containers in September, expects similar volume growth in 2008.
   Ken Bloom, INTTRA’s chief executive officer and president, attributed the platform’s rapid adoption to expanding the geographic and product footprint, with significant growth coming from China, India, South America, and emerging markets in South East Asia and Africa.
   The company has also introduced new products, such as an offline PC-based desktop shipping order for China and upgraded e-commerce tools for electronic shipping instructions.
