Upcoming COAC meeting to be webcast    When the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Commercial Operations Advisory Committee convenes in Long Beach, Calif., on Aug. 18 it will mark the first time the group's quarterly meeting has been webcast.
   Officials at Customs and Border Protection are offering Internet access to provide greater public access to the event. COAC comprises 20 industry representatives who provide advice to CBP, DHS and the Treasury Department on border management issues that impact the flow of international shipments, including security and trade compliance. The meetings are closely followed to learn about policies and actions CBP and other agencies are considering, as well as other developments.
   The meeting will be held at the Westin Long Beach Hotel, in the Centennial Ballroom, Salon A, 333 East Ocean Blvd.
   Those planning on attending via webcast, are asked to register online at by close-of-business on Aug. 12. On-site attendees should register online here or by e-mail.
   Topics on the agenda include the status of the Automated Commercial Environment, air cargo security, land border issues, interagency collaboration on cargo release, anti-dumping and counterveiling duties, and intellectual property rights.
   Written comments on agenda items will be accepted through Aug. 12 and must be identified by USCBP-2011-0024. They may be submitted by one of the following methods:
