Eimskip doubles North American frequency    The Icelandic shipping company said it will add a second ship on July 15 so that it can offer a second sailing per month between Iceland and United States and Canada.
   The 700-TEU Skogafoss will sail in a rotation of Reykjavik, Argentia, Boston, Argentia and Reykjavik.
   Reykjafoss, Eimskip’s existing vessel will continue to operate in its Reykajavik, Argentia, Boston, Norfolk, Halifax, Argentia and Reykajavik rotation.
   The company also offers seasonal sailings to St. Anthony in Newfoundland.
   “The market in Newfoundland has been showing steady growth, with an upturn in both the fishing and heavy industries in the area. This upturn is one factor in Eimskip's decision to strengthen its operations in the North Atlantic, and meeting increased demands for transport services between Newfoundland and Europe,” the company said.
   Eimskip said its European liner schedules will also see changes in July:
   ' The Southern route service will cease calling Hamburg, to ensure space availability and dependability.
   ' The Northern route service will start calling Hamburg to replace the Southern route calls, and cease its call in Fredrikstad, Norway.
   ' The Eastern route calling Torshavn in the Faroe Islands and Aarhus in Denmark will add Fredrikstad to its ports of call
   ' Eimskip ' CTG, subsidiary of Eimskip in Norway, will add Aberdeen, Scotland, as a port of call to and from Norway.
