Buenaventura GM Nancy Ceballos dies

Buenaventura GM Nancy Ceballos dies Nancy Ceballos, who pioneered as a woman port executive at the Port of Buenaventura, Colombia, died Oct. 15.
   Ceballos started working as an accountant for the current port authority, Sociedad Portuaria de Buenaventura, when it was formed in 1994. She was named financial manager in 2002 and was elevated to general manager in 2006.
   Most recently, she negotiated the renewal of Sociedad Portuaria de Buenaventura's concession with the government of Colombia, which runs through 2024. Her efforts on the new contract were recognized by Colombian Transport Minister Andr's Uriel Gallego during the eulogy at her funeral last week, according to a notice from the American Association of Port Authorities.
