Evergreen joins Asia-USEC RTW loop

Taiwan-based ocean carrier Evergreen Line has begun purchasing slots on CMA CGM’s PEX3 service, which connects Asia with the U.S. Gulf and East Coast as well as South Africa on a round-the-world routing.    Evergreen Line has begun purchasing slots on CMA CGM’s PEX3 service, which connects Asia with the United States Gulf and East Coast as well as South Africa on a round-the-world routing, according to ocean carrier and schedule database BlueWater Reporting.
   The Taiwan-based ocean carrier joined ANL, COSCO, CSCL and US Lines as slot takers on the PEX3 with the July 8 sailing of the CMA CGM Chateau D’if from Singapore.
   The loop is operated with 11 CMA CGM vessels with an average capacity of 5,064 TEUs.
   The PEX3 transits the Panama Canal on the headhaul leg from Asia to the U.S. before sailing around the Cape of Good Hope at the southern tip of Africa on the return leg. The service recently dropped a call at Manzanillo, Panama, leaving a revised port rotation of Singapore, Hong Kong, Chiwan (Shenzhen), Shanghai, Ningbo, Busan, Houston, Mobile, Miami, Jacksonville, Durban, and Singapore.
   Evergreen participates on six additional services between Asia and the East Coast of North America: the carrier’s jointly operated NUE service with Hanjin; the CKYHE Alliance loops AWE1, AWE2, AWE3 and AUE; and a slot agreement on the G6 Alliance’s SVS/AUE3.
