Antwerp, Helsingborg terminals order ship-to-shore cranes from Kalmar    Swedish equipment manufacturer Kalmar Industries said MSC Home Terminal in Antwerp has ordered another two super-post-Panamax ship-to-shore container gantry cranes, while Sweden’s Helsingborgs Hamn AB has ordered one Panamax ship-to-shore container crane.
   MSC Home Terminal is a joint venture between Swiss ocean carrier Mediterranean Shipping Co. and Hesse-Noord Natie NV, owned by Singapore’s PSA Corp. The Belgian terminal received 15 of the super-post-Panamax cranes in 2004, which can reach 56 meters (183.7 feet) beyond the quay, capable of handling ships 20 containers wide.
   The crane ordered by Helsingborgs Hamn is capable of handling Panamax containerships in single or twin-lift mode with a reach of 36 meters (118.1 feet). It is destined for the existing terminal in Helsingborg, which already has one ship-to-shore crane in use. Kalmar said the new crane will be the second-largest crane working in Swedish ports.
   Delivery of the MSC cranes is scheduled for June 2007, while the Helsingborg cranes will arrive December of the same year.
